Herfst, mooi weer en verlof… ideale omstandigheden om een leuke motorrit te plannen!

On a hot evening, I wanted to start an SV650s (2004) bike after a medium distance ride. It really did nothing, as if there was no battery. After downloading the technical scheme, we tested some electrical components. We couldn’t find any faulty hardware. The next step was to lift the fuel tank and remove the air cleaner box. Underneath, you can find some essential electrical components e.g. the ignition coupler. We couldn’t detach the coupler because it was melted (not directly visible outside the coupler). After a while, it got detached, but as you can see on the picture, it was burned.

Attention, you can ride the bike with a burned ignition coupler, but this can be very dangerous! For example when your bike gets turned off in the middle of a corner.

Changing the coupler is the only good fix. Afterwards, everything works without a single problem. Weird that a simple solid connection like that gets burned. Isn’t it?

… is zeker en vast geen geld waard dit jaar. Tenzij je voor het motosalon gaat of om echt een wagen te kopen valt het tegen. Achja, het blijft de “bedrijfs”-editie he.

Bij de moto’s blijven de Kawa Z750, Ducati 1098, KTM Duke 690, Yamaha R6, Honda CB600S en CBR600RR echt wel _de_ modellekes. Blijven dromen zeker? Het BMW MotoGP model lijkt een CBR met M1 gemengd model, vreemd.

Bent u ook iemand die reeds weet dat er nog andere sporten bestaan dan wielrennen, voetbal en tennis? Mooi, want _alle_ Vlaamse tv zenders weten dit blijkbaar niet! Bij de franstalige concurrenten kan je tenminste soms nog rally en andere sporten zien. Ook de BBC is veel ruimer in zijn aanbod.

Deze zondag bijvoorbeeld, was het manche 3 in het World Superbike Championship. Juist ja, toerkes rondrijden met de moto op een stuk asfalt in Valencia, Spanje. Deze sport is tegenwoordig zelfs niet meer te bewonderen op Eurosport. Daarom prijs ik de gratis TV stream die zij uitzenden op hun website www.worldsbk.com. Andere sporten zouden dit initatief mogen overnemen, desnoods met reclame ertussen om de boel betaalbaar/gratis te houden.
